In 2019, I proposed overdose prevention centers as part of the solution to Maine’s opioid epidemic and overdoses. I mentioned in 2019 that these centers would help minimize spread of HIV and Hepatitis C, which we have seen spreading through Penobscot County and other parts of Maine at an alarming rate.
