Volatility in the Strait of Hormuz is blamed as gasoline prices spiked 17 cents in the last week and diesel prices continue to hit daily all-time records in Las Vegas. As of Friday, a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Southern Nevada was $5.17, up 2 cents over Thursday, 41 cents in the last month and $1.21 from the same time last year.
