West Virginia sees large surplus from FY 2026; long-term growth still lagging

(WOWK) — West Virginia is reporting a $370 million revenue surplus at the end of Fiscal Year (FY) 2026. With the beginning of FY 2027 on July 1, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that total General Revenue Fund (GRF) collections reached $5.693 billion, exceeding estimates by $370 million.
