Several state lawmakers announced plans on Friday to introduce legislation in 2027 to establish a statewide moratorium in New Mexico against "large-scale" data center development. The legislation will be introduced by Democratic state representatives Micaela Lara Cadena of Mesilla, Angelica Rubio of Las Cruces and Eleanor Chávez of Albuquerque.
