Proposed changes to Lexington zoning codes would majorly limit data centers

The amendment would prohibit any data center from operating in parts of the city zoned for agricultural, tourism and single-family detached housing. It would ban major data centers—ones larger than 50,00 square feet — outright, while allowing minor data centers — those up to 50,00 square feet — to operate in areas zoned for warehouse businesses and light industry.
