Senator Susan Collins advocated for the grant from the build program which provides funding for road, rail, and port projects in the U.S. Collins says the grant will be used to upgrade Eastport’s fish pier that has deteriorated over 45 years and to complete an almost 100 foot extension of the city’s breakwater.
