10 women were awarded by the club this year, including two Barbra An Pleadwell Scholarship recipients, five Women's Nursing Degree Scholarship winners and three Young Woman in Leadership Award recipients. “Chartered in 1950, our club has made a difference on Hawai‘i Island for 76 years,” said Zonta Club of Hilo President Laurie Higashi in an announcement about this year’s awards.
